This event has concluded. Thank you to the Financial Modeling Institute for the opportunity to present.
In March 2023 I had the opportunity to lead a one-hour webinar with the Financial Modeling Institute (FMI) on an introduction to Python. Event description:
If you’re a financial professional looking to grow your data analysis skills, Python offers a great learning opportunity. In this introductory session, learners will become familiar with basic programming along with possibilities for integrating Python into their everyday tasks, particularly Excel.
After attending this session, you’ll be in great shape to conduct rigorous and reproducible analyses, create visualizations unavailable in Excel, and collaborate more effectively with technical professionals.
This was a fun, fast-paced event and FMI is a solid organization. It’s great to see leaders in finance start to take data analytics, Python, advanced Excel and related topics seriously. A big reason my career veered into data analytics was the lack of opportunity for technical expertise previously available in finance.
While the event recording is available only to FMI community members, you can download the slides and files used in the class on GitHub.
If you are looking to have your finance team automate tasks, build compelling visualizations and stay relevant in an AI economy, check out my Python Foundations for Finance workshops.
